Sample Apartment Lease
Chicago Association of Realtors Sample Lease – The Chicago lease agreement for 2021 is suitable for any type of residential property, and as such, it does not address any particular features of your leasing situation. Also, note that not all Chicago apartments are subject to the RLTO's mandates, with the most common exception being owner-occupied buildings of six units of fewer. Chicago landlords that need not comply with the RLTO might prefer to edit out certian RLTO-mandated, tenant-friendly sections of the lease agreement. In other words, all landlords should read this apartment lease carefully and make edits with assistance from counsel.

Chicago Security Deposit Interest Rates – This rate is based upon the average of the rates of interest, as of Dec. 31, 2021, of the following types of accounts at Chase Bank, which is the commercial bank having the most branches located in the City of Chicago: Savings Account 0.01 percent; and Six-month Certificate of Deposit (based on a deposit of $1,000) 0.01 percent.
